Macomb Celebration of Black Excellence

I am the President of Metro Equity Collaborative (MEC), a nonprofit organization based in Macomb County dedicated to advocacy and education that promotes equitable solutions to pervasive social ills. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are gearing up for the 7th Annual Macomb Celebration of Black Excellence events which for the first time, consists of a full week of Black History activities.

The 2025 events kick off with the Business Vendor & Resource Expo on Saturday, February 15th with nearly 70 vendors showcasing beauty, fashion, jewelry, authors, food, youth entrepreneurs, service organizations and more. The expo is free and open to the public.

For the first time, MEC will collaborate with partner organizations to host a full week of activities between Sunday, February 16 th - 21st, featuring: a Gospel Concert, HBCU College Fair, Food Challenge, Health & Wellness Fair, Emerging Leaders Day and the highly anticipated State of Black Macomb Address.

This powerful week of Black History Month celebration culminates on Saturday, February 22, 2025, with the convening of community leaders, partners, supporters and our amazing sponsors to witness a cultural immersion, and celebration of six honorees at an awards gala with dinner and entertainment from 6:00pm - 10:00pm. This gala sells out every year with over 500 attendees.

The Annual Macomb Celebration of Black Excellence (MCBE) events offer sponsors outstanding opportunities for branding, media coverage and networking while celebrating the lasting achievements of Macomb County's African American community. We would be thrilled to have your support!
