I am the President of Metro Equity Collaborative (MEC), a nonprofit organization based in Macomb County dedicated to advocacy and education that promotes equitable solutions to pervasive social ills. Each year, we host the Macomb Celebration of Black Excellence — a full week of programming celebrating Black History Month, culminating in an awards gala that honors six community honorees and draws over 500 attendees.
